Ventura County Jail System

You can find information on any arrestee in the county at Ventura Inmate Information. Ventura County police services and jails are operated predominantly by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. In addition to the servicing the county's unicorporated areas, VCSD runs police departments on a contract basis including the Camarillo Police Department, the Fillmore Police Department, the Moorpark Police Department, and the Ojai Police Department. Additionally, some cities in Ventura County provide independent police departments such as the Ventura Police Department.

The Ventura County Main Jail receives new arrestees directly from VCSD Patrol and other Ventura police agencies such as the Ventura Police Department, the University Of California Police Department and the CHP. Detainees from the Santa Maria Branch Jail are routinely transferred to the Main Jail. The Pre-Trial Detention Facility also is at this facility. This jail houses all female inmates, unsentenced male inmates, and those inmates who require 24-hour medical care. Ventura County bail bonds are primarily posted at this facility.

The Camarillo Station provides the city of Camarillo with police services and also houses officers that patrol nearby unincorporated areas of Ventura County. Arrestees in this area may be taken to the East County Jail in Thousand Oaks or the Main Ventura County Jail in Ventura.

In addition to providing law enforcement services for the City of Fillmore, this station is also responsible for serving about 450 square miles of unincorporated area in the Santa Clara Valley, including the community of Piru.  Generally, those arrested in this area would be taken to the main Ventura County Jail and could be bailed out of that Ventura County facility.

Those arrested in Moorpark, which is policed by the VCSD, would generally be taken to the East County Jail in Thousand Oaks.

Ojai Station

The Ojai station provides full-service policing to residents of the Ojai Valley including the City of Ojai which contracts with the Ventura County Sheriff's Department.

The Thousand Oaks Police Department is under contract by the Ventura County Sheriff's Department. The East County Jail serves as a satellite booking jail for agencies in eastern Ventura County.
