WHY BAIL OUT?
Be aware that once somebody is arrested, the legal system has 72 hours, or three business days, to get them before a Judge. Many people cannot wait in jail for days due to work and family commitments, nor do they want to be in jail that long. In most cases, by bailing the defendant out quickly, you can often prevent the defendant from making a legal mistake in court as the result of not having proper legal counsel.
BAIL BOND COST AND PAPERWORK
At the time of arrest and processing, the bail amount is set according to a published Los Angeles County bail schedule that is set by judges. As a bail consumer, you may choose to use a bail bondsman and will be paying 10% of the full amount of the bail. The bail agent will handle all the particulars of the transaction.
People that have large financial means may choose not to use a bondsman, but rather will pay the full amount of the bail in person by paying cash or cashier’s check. Be aware that these funds will be tied up until the case is completed. If you are paying by cashiers check, you need to be certain that the payee is exactly as the jail requests; otherwise, the jail may refuse the check.
The cost for Los Angeles bail bonds is set by the State of California at 10% of the full bail amount. For example, for a bail amount of $20,000, a bail bond will cost $2000. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
Usually, we can transact all bail bond paperwork by e-mail, fax and telephone. While you are filling out the paperwork at your home or office, we can have a bondsman in route to the jail to post the bond. This assures that the defendant is being released as expeditiously as possible. Please telephone us and we can discuss your options. Bail for Los Angeles County may be posted 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
GETTING OUT OF JAIL IN LA COUNTY
Bail bond policies and procedures for getting out of jail once a bond has been posted with the jailer vary among Los Angeles County jails. After the bail bond is processed, a detainee can usually be released in a few short hours at the smaller jails.
NO COLLATERAL BAIL BONDS
WHAT IS COLLATERAL
Collateral is something of value that is used to secure a debt or ensure payment. Sometimes a bail bond company will receive collateral in order to ensure that the defendant appears in court. Most bail bond collateral is in the form of real estate or cash.
A bail company must return your collateral at the resolution of the case.
At Rynerson Bail Bonds, collateral is generally not required for most bail bonds. We write most bail as "signature bonds" meaning the nature of the case and your good credit history and stability in the community leads us to believe we do not need collateral.
IS COLLATERAL REQUIRED?
Not with Rynerson Bail Bonds. We often negotiate no collateral bail bonds. These are called signature bonds. We find that most of our customers are eligible for a signature bond.
As part of the bail bond process, we will need you to answer many questions for the bail application. We look at many factors such as the length of time living in California, employment situation, credit rating, character, type of crime, and other factors. These factors are considered for both the defendant and the indemnitor (person signing the bail bond). We do this so that we can determine risk and, hopefully, not require collateral.
If you're arranging a bond for a friend or family member, make sure you're aware of your bail bond indemnitor responsibility. By signing the bail agreement, you are obligating yourself to pay the entire amount of the bail bond if the defendant fails to appear in court and cannot be located.
We provide bail bond service to all Los Angeles County jails and cities including:
