HOW BAIL BONDS WORK:

COLORADO Local bail bonds, jails, prisons, police, inmates, courts, arrest warrants.

The purpose of bail is to return to an arrested person their freedom pending resolutions of their case.

The 8th Amendment requires bail to not be excessive. The bail bond amount is determined based upon the reasonable amount necessary to keep a person accused of a crime from fleeing before returning to court at the appointed date and time.

Fleeing, or "skipping bail" is illegal and will result in further penalties to the accused.

A licensed Bail Agent will ask you some basic identification questions about the person who was Arrested and currently in custody.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW TO GET SOMEONE BAILED-OUT FROM JAIL:

• The Arrested person's full legal name
• Their person's date of birth
• The county, city, and state where they are being held
• The person's booking number
• What charge(s) they are being held on
• The bail amount
• Don't worry. If you do not know their booking number or the bail amount, the agent can determine that information for you.
